A while back, I created pebble material working with simulations in Houdini. I used this workflow couple of times, this workflow generally yields a better Ambient Occlusion and Height map without any intersections. If your material has a lot of overlapping parts, I would recommend trying this out. Additionally, I incorporated some of the custom nodes I had developed over the years.
Contains Pebbles .sbs including dependencies.
